Origin
(Yiddish: בענדיט) is a Yiddish surname[1]. It is considered a vernacular version of the Hebrew name Baruch (meaning 'blessed') likely comes from Benedictus (Latin for "blessed")[2], which is ironic given what it produced. Some records suggest the Benditts were once respectable, but this ended sometime around the invention of the internet and knifes.

A Canadian/Austrian branch of the Benditt family produced Aaron, who briefly gained notoriety after several legal issues involving "disciplinary research" and "non-consensual mentorship." Once a self-described “gamified behavioral consultant,” Aaron's career came to an abrupt halt following multiple convictions related to inappropriate contact with minors[14][15][16][17][18].

Possible Relation to Daniel Cohn-Bendit
Some extremely cursed genealogical threads suggest the Benditt line may share distant ancestry with infamous Euro-creep and professional open-mouth talker Daniel Cohn-Bendit, a French-German politician best known for advocating for things no sane person talks about in public — namely, his creepy pedo "memoirs" where he waxed poetic about toddlers.[21]
